Xanthippe Tsalimi
is a Greek artist born in 1978. She resides in Athens and has been working in the fields of fine and applied arts for over 10 years.
Xanthippe’s primary artwork consists of oil paintings. Her work is an amalgamation of environmental and atmospheric abstracts.
As owner of the creative studio “Omikron", she works with a group of artists and architects on various art, design and architecture projects. In addition, for the past 6 years she has been teaching art, as well as design at private colleges and public schools.
Xanthippe studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts (graduate year 2007), under the instruction and tutoring of notable artists J. Valavanidis, P. Charalambous and M. Manousakis. During this 5 year period of painting studies, she completed several courses that were each one year in length. These courses included: stage design, digital art, typography and graphic design, with additional courses in educational studies in academics and art.
Art studies were preceded with an additional bachelor’s degree in interior design and architecture at the School of Graphic Arts, at the Technological Education Institute (TEI) in Athens. In addition, she attended Helsinki University of Art and Design in Finland with the aid of a grant, where she worked on a multi-national art project. After finishing her studies (2007 & 2008), she was the only foreign student to be awarded a scholarship from the Royal Academy of History and Art of San Quirce and Madrid’s Academy of Fine Arts. This was awarded for her residency in various landscape workshops and exhibitions in Segovia, Spain.
During the past several years, Xanthippe’s artwork has achieved notable recognition. Her participation in group art exhibits have taken place throughout Spain, France, Finland and Greece. Her most recent participation in these European art events took place at the Art-Paris Fair of 2011, with Saatchi Gallery.
